Unable to pay for college debt what can I do?
My university says federal fin aid prohibts them from using future fin aid pymts to pay off charges from a prior semester. In other words you cannot plot on using current year aid to pay for anything left over from a previous semester. I am a single parent working two jobs with three kids (9, 8, and 2) who can graduate after two more semester. I have not been able to return and already to my limit of how many classes I can transfer in. I have terrible credit and unable to streach what I have anyfurther to pay off last summers 3,000 dollar debt so that I can return to college. I have been out of school so long that my student loan will be in repayment soon. Where can I get a loan or help so that I can get back in to my university?I would consider online classes for now until you get your financial situation under control since it sounds like you got your hands full so explore the option of online classes.

Why do parents save for their kids college education when Financial Aid will pay for everything?
I constantly hear things about parents who save for their kids college education… Don’t people know that Financial Aid is available that will pay for 100% of the cost of going to college? There are Stafford Loans, the Pell Grant, and many other Federal Student Loan programs that will cover 100% of the tuition cost AND give the student money left over to live on while attending college. Yes, the student will have to pay these loans back but NOT while attending school. You can defer the payments till after you graduate and get a job. If you don’t get a job, then you can defer even longer with the Income Based Repayment program. You could conceivably NEVER pay the loans back… There is NO NEED for parents to save and place away money for college when the government is willing to give away free money to anyone who wants to attend school. Just fill out the FAFSA form online and you can get all kinds of FREE Government Financial Aid. I will add that if a student simply waits till they are over 22 years ancient and THEN apply for Financial Aid, you will be considered an “Adult Continuing Education” and the Financial Aid gropus; FAFSA, Federal Aid, etc. will not even LOOK at the parents assets. They only view the 22 year ancient adults income, and assets. If High School students would simply take a few years off, get a job, earn money and experience, perhaps even travel and see the world. THEN when they are 22 years ancient simply apply to college and apply for Financial Aid and the Government will give you 100% of the money you need either in loans or for free in the form of grants. Going to college right after High School just cost the family a TON of money that they could avoid paying at all if the student would just wait a few years and apply when they are 22 and considered an “Adult” by the government.Financial aid puts together a budget for a student’s education. That includes tuition, fees, books, and cost of living. They look at what the parents can contribute, what the student can and place together an offer letter. If the student is eligible for 100% of the budget… they can get federal LOANS. As a undergrad student, the student can take like 5 or 6 grand of loans a year and the parents are responsible of taking out the rest of the loans. Parents save money in order to avoid paying loans. And I’m not sure where you get that it’s free government aid or that you never pay the loans back. Student loans are the only loans that you HAVE to pay back. Even bankruptcy will not wipe away the student loan debt.
Financial aid doesn’t pay for everything at every college, and there are many people who do not qualify for need-based grants (these are only for the neediest students, and these students generally do not have a college fund). For students who are not considered “needy” they can only borrow up to $ 5,500/freshman year. While that is enough to pay for many public, in-state schools… it’s also money the student will pay back (with interest)… it’s not “free” money. Financial aid is not enough to cover out-of-state tuition or private school tuition… it’s no where near enough. Parents’ are expected to help with their children’s tuition… that’s why parental income and assets must be included on the fafsa. Sounds like you need some more education regarding student loans and financial aid. The IBR payment is not a excellent program because it spreads your loans over 25 years before they’re forgiven. Unless you plot on living in poverty for the next 25 years… you’ll be better off using the standard 10 year repayment. Once your on the IBR, your payments will change as your income changes. So, while you may start out with a $ 0 payment… in 3 years your payment could be higher than what your standard payment would be… and you cannot change back to the standard plot then. Plus, it’s really stupid to live off of loan money… again, unless you plot on living in poverty for the next several decades.
Are you considering student loans for college or do you already have them? Get detail in rank on applying and repaying student loans, student loan repayment plans, default on student loans, requesting for deferment or leniency of student loans, financial aid process, help with disputing…

Are Student Loan In rank Data considered public records?
I recall a hearing a tale on ABC News about student loan in rank. The show was on Army Recruitment of High School and College Students. On the show, one of the mother’s said that the name of individuals who apply for federal loan programs and broadcasting of funds to a school system pool of eligible students is considered public records. Is this right? Technically, US Fedearl Aid is a federal program which means that it should be covered by FOIA laws. Is it legal for them to release in rank, such as the dates of attendance for students or look up a students in rank to see if they are in loan default, repayment, or recipient of AID, and schools person attended without a legal order or subpeona? For example, if I want to compile the In rank for a yearbook or public online database, can I just FOIA the records or do I have to get a subpeona to do this?Which court would I have to file it in?yes it is unless the student is curentl attending the school then a warant is needed .
