I recieved a letter about finacial aid from the associate director of systems at rice university.?
The letter was stated like this We are excited that you have applied to Rice University and wanted to let you know that it is not too late to apply for financial aid! While the admission committee is busy reading your attention for admission, the Office of Financial Aid is keen to identify families that will need some help with funding their child’s education. In order to be considered for need-based financial aid, you must complete the following attention supplies: 2009-2010 Free Attention for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov) 2009-2010 CSS Profile (www.collegeboard.org) Submit signed copies of your 2008 federal income tax forms to The College Board via IDOC (https://idoc.collegeboard.com) If you have not completed the above attention supplies, please do so as soon as possible. We look forward to including a financial aid notification along with your admission choice! Please direct any inquiries regarding your financial aid to fina@rice.edu. With best wishes, Heather Domeier Associate Director of Systems DOES THIS MEAN THAT I WAS ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It seems like that they just want you to start on your financial aid. This does seem to be a bit confusing. You just better call them to make sure you got in before you get your hopes up.
Son of illegal parents thinking of how to get finacial aid?
My parents and I are illegal, Im an A student, and if it changes anything, my parents pay taxes. I still have not done a full research on this, but i thought i would start here. I know i wouldn’t be eligible for federal aid, but are there self-determining scholarships that help people in my situation?your parents work on the books? to my knowledge you dont pay taxes unless you work on the books, and you usually cant work on the books unless you have a SSN, in which case you are legal. i would speak to a counselor at your high school, see what your options are. also, this website had a ton of help: http://www.finaid.org/otheraid/undocumented.phtml the very end says “If the parents do not have a social security number or the social security number fails the match, they should use 000-00-0000 as their social security number on the FAFSA form.” and it also gives you in rank on scholarships

I need a lil advice about college?Community College & Paying for College?
I want to go to a four year university, I just graduated in May08 (I chose to take a break and not go to college right after high school but definetly sometime in 09 maybe spring or fall) and I had As and Bs in school but didnt get any scholarships, I could get into a university like Morgan but i know that my SAT score wasnt excellent so I’m thinking should I go to a community college for 2 years, get my general classes out the way and then transfer to a university, I reckon that my best bet. I really dont know how im going to pay for college(i know about the Federal Student Finacial Aid) but thats not enough I cant get any loans because I dont have credit and my parents have terrible credit. I want to find out more about the work study loan programs, does that mean I work and in return I get an education, Thank you for taking the time to even read this lol what should i doStudents and parents who must deal with the high cost of a college education have available to them a wide range of student loans. This article offers details on three general types of student loans. Unlike other student loans, attention for a specific Stafford Loan should be preceded by the filing of a Free Attention for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA attention should be made in the name of the aspiring student. http://www.worldbestloans.com/student-loans.htm Like some other student loans, attention for the Signature Loan permits the use of a co-signer. In fact, there is a real advantage to applying for a Signature Loan with a co-signer.

Federal Student loans arent enough for School?
I probaly wont get anything from Finacial Aid bc my parents make more than enough. They wont cosign for a regular student loan and yea ill try to get scholarships but idk problay wont be enough! pleas any thoughtsIf you say you can’t get government help, can’t get a loan, can’t get money from your parents….better look at a different school, maybe community college.
There’s always community college, and then you can transfer.
