Do Self-determining students get more financial aid or dependent ones?
Or what is it that determines the amount you’ll receive for financial aid? It’s the amount of money your parents make. Or in the case if self-determining ones, their income. The less you make the more you get, in both instances.
1- income level. Self-determining only claims their own (but you must meet one of the criteria and a “regular” college student does not), while dependents must claim their parents income as well (regardless of if they are paying or not) 2- scholarships. The more you have (that are reported directly to the schools), the less you will receive 3-the average cost determined by your school. They won’t give you any more than average cost less EFC, and most of the times you won’t get that much 4-amount the school has allocated to them. They only get so much in funds- they do run out eventually. That is why it is better to get it in early!

What financial aid is available for self-determining students?
meaning fulltime students who aren’t supported by their legal gardiansyou can apply for FAFSA or go to a erudition website like fastweb.com or something
Depending on the society, you may be eligible for such federal aid as the Pell grand and campus-based federal money (FSEOG, Federal Work Study, etc.). You must first fill out the FAFSA in order to see about your eligibility. Self-determining students also have the ability to recieve a higher amount of Stafford Federal loans if needed. Make sure that you check for state financial aid as well. If you are attending a school in the state that you reside in, there is most likely some financial aid there. Make sure you fill out the FAFSA before your state’s deadline passes. Check on your school’s institutional aid as well. You never know what type of scholarships they have available!
The answer above mine is SPAM!!
