Will student loan debt come out of my taxes? Federal Student Loan Payment

Will student loan debt come out of my taxes?

I am behind on my federal student loan payments. I am $ 150 behind. I’m making my payments each month and adding more to catch up when I can. If I’m still behind on it when it’s time for taxes will they take that out of my tax refund if I don’t catch up on it?

Most likely

If you’re just behind but are making payments, they won’t bother you. If you stop paying altogether and the account goes into default, then they will go after tax refunds, and possibly even bank accounts.

yes they will take it. they have been taking mine for 4 years

Can a student loan costs be garnished?

I had a federal student loan deposited into my bank account (the only option my college offers). It was garnished with no notice today. Can they garnish a student loan payment, since student loans are for college related expenses?
