I live in Canada btw. IT seems like it would be a fun job!! I assume you must work in a ‘dungeon’ but after doing a quick google search, it seems like they are hard to find – any suggestions?

are u serious..don’t. People will look down at you and trust me it will hurt ur reputation. the reason why they are hard to find cause those activities could be illegal in some parts of the country, so just go work at ur local supermarket, then get ur degree or something in college and go get a proper job and then get proper pay.

Get a student work permit to work in Canada legally? (im American)?

basically… (as in REALLY basic lol) Im moving to canada to go to school (fall 2009) with my boyfriend (he lives in Canada, i live in Washington USA) and ill need a job to have money while in college! Does anyone know any excellent info on how to get a job legally in a country you aren’t a citizen of? (this case an American getting a job in canada) I know there are student work permits but does anyone know exactly how those work? Dont send me to embassies or stupid websites cuz ive done plenty of online searching for that, i just want to see if anyone here has really done it themselves! THANKS!!!

Alrightty, I am an American citizen studying in Canada, so here goes! If you want a job off campus. You will need the off-campus work permit which you can only buy after 6 months of post-secondary study in Canada. But it allows you to work up to 20 hours/week during school days and full time during breaks (summer, winter, spring, etc etc). You need to apply for this through your university—they may have an international student union that can help you. Once you got the work permit you can then apply for your SIN card (see below). If you want a job on campus. You can get it sooner. All you need is a job offer. No amount of time you must have studied. You can start as as soon as you start school. About the SIN card. Then you need to go to your local HDSRC office (Human resources and social development Canada) and apply for your Social Insurance Number which you need to recieve benefits and pay from your job. Hope I helped. I will be applying for the off-campus one in March 09, so I’ll be in the same boat as you… unless by some miracle, we get permanent residence by then, but that’s virtually impossible.

Government Of Canada Student Loans Application

Will this potentially damper or inhibit my chances of getting a student Visa to Canada?

I am plotting to go study to Canada, I already have my Honduranian Software commerce degree but I want to get a Canadian Education so I could possibly get a job and get to stay, I have been wanting to go to this country all my life and back in 2007 I posted a question about 4-7 times about which country is simpler to immigrate to.. And I commited the fatal error of asking it with my account that has my real name on it.., now everytime I search for my name the 3rd result is yahoo answers my activities…, Its so frustrating and I cant believe I was that stupid.., But my question is will this affect my chances of getting a student Visa, because they will come to the conclusion that Im plotting to stay illegally in Canada. Please if anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate it, I reckon I migh change my name but I dont know, all I hope is that it wont affect me because you know how hard it is to get 25K in Honduras!!! So again please share anything that you know.. thanks
