Are the grants for single moms different than regular FAFSA financial aid? Fafsa Grants

I haven’t heard Obama say anything about special grants for single moms. What you’ve been seeing is like a scam. Single moms qualify for federal aid on the same qualifications as everyone else, income, assets and household size.

yes, I *reckon* you go through the FAFSA process, and if you are eligible for the Obama grants, you will get them. Filing the FAFSA forms is like applying for every kind of federal aid there is. you get whatever you are deemed eligible for. ( and what there is enough funding for) You can also apply for scholarships and grants from private sources. You can check FastWeb, it’s a huge database of scholaship sources. There’s also something called Upromise where you can get small rebates for buys that you make, and the rebate money goes into an education fund for yourself. Upromise works kind of like credit card rewards, where the more you spend, the more you earn toward college tuition. My sister in law uses it because she went back to school, and every semester her Upromise earnings are enough to buy text books. there are also Pell grants, but they are kind of competitive. If you are going to a huge university, they may have their own separate scholarships.

FAFSA is the attention for federal grants, work-study, and loans. The amounts awarded by the government after filling out this form massively exceeds the maximum Cal Grant, especially since they have been cut down anyway.
