Are there any financial aid packages/scholarships for older, returning students? Financial Aid For Older Students

Are there any financial aid packages/scholarships for older, returning students?

My wife wants to return to school to get her bachelor’s degree. Her job has tuition refund, but any extra funds would help out. Thank you for your help.

For older, returning students I found fascinating in rank about your answer, college loans,SCHOLARSHIPS, college grants & partime works here.http://all-student-loan-consolidation.blogspot.com/2007/07/scholarships.htmlGood luck!

Yes, there are scholarships out there for older students, but they are in a smaller amount than a high school senior. I recommend joining several free membership erudition search websites and apply for every single erudition that she qualifies for that comes out in the results no matter the amount of money. Excellent luck!

I must refer you to GRANT.com It is the best source of grants, scholarships I have ever found.

Question about college financial aid for student living on own due to special conditions?

If a 20 yr. ancient college student is already receiving financial aid for college tuition, but is now going to be living on their own due to abusive home life, are they eligible for any additional aid for living expenses? They are full-time student, working part-time. Thanks!

Contact the Social Security department, they often will give them subsidised rent and it shouldn’t interfer with the other financial aid :)

not sure, but he may have to prove he’s living on his own with a utility bill or something. reapply at the school’s financial aid office. this happened to me when I was in college – not the abusive homelife part, but I started living on my own and was then eligible for work-study, when I wasn’t eligible before.

Is there money for older college students too?

I was wondering if there is financial aid out there for older college students like there is for graduating high school seniors. We live in California and my son is 28 years ancient. He got a 2-year degree some years ago and now is going back next fall to get his 4-year degree. Are high school seniors the only ones that can apply for and get financial aid, or can anyone get it? If so, where does he start? Thanks for any info you can give us.

Yes. He can fill out the FAFSA and apply same as everyone else. The only difference is that he won’t be required to report parent income. Depending on hiw current financial situation this can be excellent or terrible. Self-determining students often find that they don’t qualify for as much as they did when they were living with their parents. Here’s the website of the form he should fill out. Beware of scams it’s a government website and any website requiring a credit card is not the real FAFSA. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

Each erudition/financial aid has different rules about it. Some friends of mine in college told me that they have valuable in rank regarding scholarships from this place. Excellent luck

Her best option is to fill out the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. That will let you know how much financial aid she is eligible for in loans and grants. It is harder to find scholarships as an older student, but its possible. Her tuition reimbursement will be a big help – sure wish I had that! Make sure you save all your receipts and that the classes she takes are approved by her employer for reimbursement. She should be able to get this info from the HR department at her work.
